The Gettysburg Foundation joined organizations worldwide on GivingTuesday for a global day of giving Nov. 28, 2023. The Foundation’s GivingTuesday campaign initiative raised funds to help grow the Gettysburg Foundation endowment to help ensure our mission of education and preservation in partnership with the National Park Service at Gettysburg in perpetuity.

Thanks to the contributions of so many, our generous lead donors David Wilkins and Shelly Malecha and challenge grant contributors Dick and Pat Morin, the Gettysburg Foundation has raised more than $21,000 this GivingTuesday. With last-minute gifts still coming in, we will help preserve the history at Gettysburg through our preservation and education efforts in partnership with Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site for decades to come. Every donation received will go toward funding the Foundation’s endowment that supports our mission.

“We appreciate all the support for our efforts and the generosity of our community of area residents, our Friends across the country and our visitors during yesterday’s GivingTuesday initiative,” said Gettysburg Foundation president and CEO Wayne E. Motts. “We are inspired by and grateful for the overwhelming support, which demonstrates the commitment of so many people to our preservation and education mission and efforts in partnership with the National Park Service here at Gettysburg,” added Motts.
