This GivingTuesday, your donation to the Gettysburg Foundation will be dedicated to the Foundation's endowment to help the Foundation’s education and preservation mission in partnership with the National Park Service at Gettysburg continue in perpetuity.
All GivingTuesday donations on Nov. 28, 2023, will fund the Gettysburg Foundation endowment and our support of Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site for years to come. Your contributions this GivingTuesday will benefit preservation projects like the ongoing rehabilitation of Little Round Top, the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center and education initiatives at the Foundation's historic sites and experiences.
"This GivingTuesday, all proceeds raised will grow the Gettysburg Foundation endowment, and your contribution will continue to further the mission of the Foundation and provide for the needs of the Museum & Visitor Center for years to come," said Gettysburg Foundation president and CEO Wayne E. Motts. "We encourage you to leave your mark on history by donating to the Gettysburg Foundation endowment benefitting the preservation and education of Gettysburg in perpetuity," added Motts.
Partnership
Since 2008, the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center has stood as a testament to all that can be achieved through a public-private partnership. The Gettysburg Foundation is the nonprofit partner of Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site. The Foundation's education and preservation mission is forever linked with the National Park Service at Gettysburg. Our partnership gives you the chance to be part of the stewardship of our joint mission. As co-owners of Gettysburg's hallowed ground, you are invited to celebrate the past 15 years of our partnership as we look forward to more possibilities for decades to come.
Preservation
Preserving this hallowed ground and returning it closer to its 1863 appearance is part of the Foundation's mission in partnership with the National Park Service at Gettysburg. In recent years, the Foundation has been able to fund successful battlefield projects, such as the Culp's Hill rehabilitation, the Cemetery Ridge restoration and the ongoing Little Round Top rehabilitation, as well as improvements at Eisenhower National Historic Site, all thanks to our generous donors and supporters. Off the battlefield, the Foundation is currently raising funds for the care and preservation of artifacts and the rotation of artifacts on display so that each visit to the museum yields a new experience for guests to the Museum & Visitor Center.
Education
Sharing stories of Gettysburg in new and exciting ways and educating visitors about the significance and relevancy of Gettysburg today are part of the Foundation's mission. Thanks to our generous donors, our support of the National Park Service at Gettysburg's interpretive programs, educational field trips and Museum & Visitor Center experiences continue in perpetuity. The Foundation also offers educational experiences through our historic sites & experiences: Children of Gettysburg 1863® interactive history museum, Ticket to the Past—Unforgettable Journeys virtual reality experience, George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital living history and Higher Ground Leadership professional development.
You can help make a difference by helping us preserve history at Gettysburg in perpetuity for our next generations.
