About the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center

The Museum & Visitor Center at Gettysburg National Military park is owned and operated by the Gettysburg Foundation, in partnership with the National Park Service. The Gettysburg Foundation is the official non-profit partner of the National Parks at Gettysburg. The Museum & Visitor Center is the official start to your Gettysburg visit. With exclusive resources and unique experiences to introduce visitors to the Battle of Gettysburg and prepare guests to tour the battlefield by bus or by car, tours depart the Museum & Visitor Center and are led by a Licensed Battlefield Guide. The Museum & Visitor Center also includes resources such as the Katherine Mabis McKenna Foundation Resource Room for assisted Civil War ancestry research for the public and the Gettysburg National Military Park Research Library a managed collection of primary and secondary source material on the Gettysburg Campaign and Battle of Gettysburg with limited public access by appointment only. Proceeds from tickets and purchases in the Museum & Visitor Center benefit Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site.
