View the Gettysburg Cyclorama in a Different Light
Jan 5, 2024
On Jan. 24 and 25, 2024, visitors to the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center have a chance to see the Gettysburg Cyclorama painting in a different light as part of the Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience.
Different from the traditional experience of the light and sound show in which visitors experience the dramatic Pickett’s Charge depicted in the Battle of Gettysburg Cyclorama painting, the special “lights up” program will feature a brief introductory talk while in full light of the painting. Visitors can see a very different view of the historic painting with the lights up and gain an understanding of the history and scenes depicted in the painting with the opportunity for questions and answers.
The Gettysburg Cyclorama is scheduled to undergo its annual preventative maintenance and cleaning to maintain the operating system requirements. The maintenance will help sustain the program for future generations to experience.

With the maintenance, the “lights up” Cyclorama program is expected to begin Wednesday, Jan. 24, continue through the entire day on Thursday, Jan. 25 and conclude with any remaining work early in the day on Friday, Jan. 26. Visitors can purchase tickets for the Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience that includes the special lights up program. The Cyclorama maintenance is planned to be completed, and the traditional Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience available again by early to mid-morning on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024.
