Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center Announces Seasonal Hours

The Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Sunday, March 1, 2026.

The Museum & Visitor Center is home to the historic Battle of Gettysburg Cyclorama and the Gettysburg Museum of the American Civil War.

Museum & Visitor Center Experiences

The Film and Cyclorama experience will be presented every 15 minutes, with the final daily showtime at 4:15 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and allow time to experience both the film and the Cyclorama painting as part of their visit. Ticket holders may explore the Gettysburg Museum of the American Civil War throughout the day.

Licensed Battlefield Guide tours depart daily from the Museum & Visitor Center during regular hours. Two-hour Battlefield Bus Tours are offered most days at select times. Battlefield Car Tours are available by reservation and may be personalized to focus on specific topics of interest. Your Licensed Battlefield Guide drives your vehicle.

The Gettysburg Foundation's immersive virtual reality experience, Ticket to the Past—Unforgettable Journeys, will offer sessions every 30 minutes beginning at 8:30 a.m., with the final daily session at 4:30 p.m.

Shopping and dining are available onsite. The Museum Book Store is open during the Museum & Visitor Center hours, and the Refreshment Saloon and the Battlegrounds Cafe & Grille, operate on seasonal schedules.

National Park Service Hours

The National Park Service staffs the Information Desk in the Museum & Visitor Center during regular hours. Visitors can obtain park maps and information on Ranger programs, battle walks, living history and special events.

Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site are open daily from sunrise to sunset. Visitors should check nps.gov/gett and nps.gov/eise for current conditions.

Friends of Gettysburg

Visitors and members can learn about the Friends of Gettysburg, volunteer opportunities and events at the Friends Desk, staffed with Gettysburg Foundation staff and volunteers from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March through November.

Visit the Friends Desk to inquire about access to the Katherine Mabis McKenna Foundation Resource Room to learn and connect to resources that aid in facilitating archival information on a family relative, a regiment, a monument and other basic Civil War information. The Resource Room is available seasonally: April through October, 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and November through March, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Visitors may purchase tickets in advance for the experiences, exhibits, tours and events at GettysburgFoundation.org or by calling Guest Relations at 877-874-2478 or 717-334-2436. Advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended during peak travel seasons.

The Museum & Visitor Center's spring, summer and fall hours will be in effect through Nov. 30, 2026.
